Katie, thanks for sharing your story. You are a brave one and believe it or not, we can all relate to some part of it. Crossfit is like dialing 911, it saves lives. Continue being strong and an inspiration to me and many others. It's a pleasure working out with you.

Sam, Philadelphia's loss was certainly Alexandria's gain. Jerry is hands down the best coach I have ever had. Even being a college athlete, I never was able to reach the level of strength and performance that I have been able to reach with CrossFit and Jerry. Jerry is an amazing coach and an amazing all around person. I am blessed to be able to work out with him. To my fellow Blue Roomers, thank YOU for making my time in the Blue Room such a wonderful experience. We all inspire each other which is one of the things I love about CrossFit. If someone is having a down day, there is someone else to pick them up. You guys are a big part of my success and I know that I would not be where I am today if it were not for your efforts! Thank you for being wonderful teammates!

Phil - AWESOME deadlift! 600 is a long ways off for me, but setting a new PR isn't...

Comment #6 - Posted by: Andy P at June 10, 2008 7:31 AM

Phil has the eyes of a wild beast. I also liked Rip's laughter at the end.

It made me think of a mad scientist / strength coach who is building a super army of Crossfit machines.

Amazing deadlift! Freakin awesome!

Great story Katie (nice looking push-up as well)
Very nice lift Phil.

Where else in fitness outside of sport and CrossFit do you see that emotion and hear stories like that. Thank you Coach and Lauren.

Katie - great stuff! Glad to hear things are turning around for you! Keep inspiring.

Phil - setting a precedent for the rest of us is an understatement. Well done!

Awesome story Katie! To me, that's what CrossFit is all about. Keep it up-you are unstoppable! Andrea

Katie - great story. I'm totally going to use that on all my folks who don't consider themselves "real" CrossFitters because they can't do pull-ups or Rx weight. Thanks for sharing!

Katie Rocks!
Words can't do justice to describe her transformation...she has always been amazing, powerful, and good enough...watch her soar!

I am grateful for the opportunity to have people like Katie and all of our amazing team at CrossFit Old Town in my life...life is good.

(Sam I miss you and my Philly peeps also - I follow along via the blogs every day)

That's a 600# deadlift, no belt, and about 9 months out from a double knee replacement. He doesn't just have "eyes like a wild beast"...

I tried to post a comment earlier, but I don't think the website likes me... :P

Thank you to everyone who left comments about my story. I love CrossFit. It has had such a positive influence on my life I can only hope that other people can see from my story that it can do the same for them. Jerry is hands down the best coach I have ever had. I can't say enough good things about him. And what can I say about my team? There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think I'm one of the luckiest people in the world to have the people from the Blue Room. They're an inspiring group.

It was a long haul, and not an easy one, so Shana, you can assure your CrossFitters that their hard work will not be in vain. Andrea, Danny, Keturah, Cara... I love working out with you guys, and Danny I'm holding you to that breakfast. ;) Thanks to everyone for finding my story interesting! It makes the writing all worthwhile. :)
