That workout was brutal! I was so messed up I didn't realize I repeated the 9th round (someone told me afterward)

Thanks to Nancy, Coach Dave, Fran, Scott & Sean for having us!

Again, as I had commented a few days ago on Kelly's bag of grace, The barbell sytle clean is not necessarily the most efficient means of cleaning a heavy, wide object that does not allow you to keep the center of gravity close to the body. Toward the end of the interview, Andy cleans a keg using barbell form. He struggles to get it to his shoulders because the CG is out in front.

If you look at some strongman videos of them either lifting a round stone, a rectangular rock, or a "log" (10" or so diameter cyllinder with inlaid handles), you will see that the efficient way of lifting is what was referred to as a "continental" style lift. The object is brought to rest on the top of the thighs. Then the object is rolled up the torso to the shoulders. when the object is rested on the shoulders, there needs to be more backward lean.

It is perfectly legit for CrossFit conditioning to lift med balls and kegs as if you were lifting a barbell, but when you get to single-rep max attempts, there is the potential to do more weight with the continental style.
